A test Email Gateway Message Sent Via a Coxmail SMTP Server From an SVMi-20e to a Gmail IMAP Email Address is sent OK and the received message reads:

The problem is if the mailbox is pointed to any email address other than a hosted Gmail account, the email goes through and is received.

This is for a private school who uses hosted gmail as their email provider.

The email addresses are xxxxacademy.org addresses which they check with gmail via a web browser. I can point messages to cox.net successfully. I can point to an IMAP gmail.com address successfully.

But if the email address is pointed to an email address hosted by hosted gmail, the email does not go through. And the emails are not going into spam.

The SVMi-20e log says that the email is sent successfully via SMTP relay.

Previously we were using Lavabit.com SMTP servers without issue.
Now since switching to Coxmail.com SMTP servers hosted Gmail will not forward the emails.

Is it a Gmail filter issue, because it is seeing "Sent by: Unknown"?

Again, it worked OK with Lavabit.com SMTP servers.

Did the xxxxacademy.org domain administrator change any settings in the Google control panel for the previous setup?

The "Sent by: Unknown" will almost certainly lead to a higher SPAM score, have you set the "From" in the mailbox block and/or "Reply To" in the system wide parameters?

The mail may be being rejected by Google, but without a Reply To the Coxmail server won't know who/where to report this failure to.

If the ISP permits outbound SMTP to servers other than their own then this may be a better method https://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en-uk&hlrm=en-uk&hlrm=en&answer=176600

No, the domain administrator did not change any settings for the previous setup.

Yes, I have set up the "From" in the mailbox block.

We cannot figure out why if the mail is sent to an actual gmail.com or any other address, it goes through. But if sent to the gmail hosted xxxxacademy.org domain it does not.

Yes, the ISP permits other outbound SMTP servers because previously we were using Lavabit.com SMTP without issue before the US government shut Lavabit.com down.

We may try your suggestion in your reply. I have see that option before, but never have used it.

Regarding my issue that I noted previously:

I found that all of my settings were correct. The issue was that the email address that I was pointing test email gateway messages to was being rejected by the ISP and were being returned.

After I realized that, I set set up other email addresses for other mailboxes and they were all successful. Why my test email address was being rejected I cannot explain.
