I've been working with the Nortel product for awhile, but I've seldom had to set up a Hunt Group, its been 7-8 years since my last. Yesterday I went to a customer's site to attempt to establish a hunt group. Here's the set up, the customer has a MICS 4.1 sw with a PRI and a flash vm. I built the hunt group with 2ea extensions, and the overflow is an extension not associated with the group. The company has two separate greeting tables and this one has an 800 number associated with it. The call comes in and the Greeting and CCR answer the call and one of the paths goes to the HG. The call rings the phones as a broadcast, then the overflow phone shows the incoming call after it rings the group. But then, the VM states the user is unavailable and the Auto-Attendant comes on. I've tried various changes, but it basically does the same thing. I've assigned & unassigned the the DID to the HG. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Why overflow to a 3rd set & not VM?

"then the overflow phone shows the incoming call after it rings the group."

You have not made it very clear.

Does the call ring at the overflow set or not
If it does then how many rings until you get bounce back to AA?

Also you did not mention what you want the call to do after it rings the overflow set.

I'd like for the call to go to the VM after the overflow phone is notified, it basically shows caller ID then the recording comes on indicating "user not available" and AA kicks in.. Customer would really like for the call to go to overflow's VM.

Thanks

Ok beware of timers.
Suggest 15 secs on the HG
Suggest 3 or 4 on the CFNA on the set

Make sure any of these timers are higher so they do not cause a conflict:
Transfer Callback - Suggest 10 if calls dont need to bounce back to who transfers the call
DRT - Suggest 10 if not needed anywhere.

Make sure that the overflow DN has a valid mailbox behind it (mailbox answers on all other calls)

Thanks for the helpful input, my issue turned out to be the call back transfer.

Thanks again
