Summit system working well. But Customer ask me a question. They use to have a partner ACS phone system. And they could put a call on hold at a non restricted phone and the restricted phone could pick up that dial tone and dial out going calls. I did not believe the ACS system did that so I tested it and it does.
So they want to know if the Vertical system can do that. I have spent lots of hours in the manuals and testing on my Summit bench system. Does any one see a way to do this?
I think it was and is a security issue with the AVAYA ACS.
Scenario - School has class room phone restricted from dialing out unless it is an emergency. The lines appear and ring on the class room phones. But are restricted from dialing out via COS 7. With the AVAYA ACS system attendant phone which is not restricted could pick up dial tone put it on hold. The restricted phone would pick it up and dial out. Say to call a parent. Obviously 911 works fine. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, can't do it, but you can create a Walking COS auth code that will un-restrict a phone for dialing if that helps.
