Hi, I have this system and are going to install it in the house.
I have only the manuals in english, and don't really know all the tech terms.
I am norwegian smile
So... where do I connect the "landline" specifically? wink

Also everything programmed is deleted when power is shut down smirk

The system is going to be more hassle than its worth, its possibly around 20 years old.

Look for a officeserv 7000 series system and you should be able to keep your existing digital handsets for the new system.

Hmmm, thing is.. I got this for free,
and plan is to use it in the house.
Mainly for an intercom to the garage and office/guestroom above the garage..
I wish not to spend much money.
I'm getting familiar with it, and it has more than enough functions for me (us)
I've just ordered a new battery for the ram-pack.
The most hassle so far is getting info online smile

Co lines should connect on the first 4 pairs if it is the same as the US system. White/blue would be line 1 White/Orange line 2 etc.Make sure your amphenol is seated correctly. The Samsung systems program pretty much the same. The Compact is less featured of course but the basics of the features and programming run throughout. For the battery I have used a rechargeable battery for a cordless phone and they work just get one that's 3.6V.
An old system yes but they do work. The Ram battery is probably the biggest issue given the age.

Thank you smile
Should this work without programming and dial 701 first?

I've been working in telecom for almost 20yrs,
but mostly with fibre and CO-lines and inside the CO.. so i'm abit rusty with this, and the english tech terms smile

Yes, as long as the line is connected you should be able to dial access the line with 701.Even dialling 9 will probably get you line 1 as the system can see the other trunks aren't connected. If you get Out Of Service when you dial 701 then either the trunk is not connected or the trunk port /card is bad. It's looking for battery voltage to tell when the trunk is connected.
To be honest until you get a battery in the Ram card it's not worth programming as the system will default every time it loses power or you turn it off.Like I said the Compact may be old but was and still is a very reliable system.

I have now replaced the battery, and it holds the memory at power down.
I connected the IP phone adapter to pair one,
and also checked it has 46 volts..
But it still says out of service when i dial 701.. smirk
What to do next?
Possible to check if the port is blown?
..it is the same with all 4 ports..
