We've been experiencing "Allocating busy port" issues, which are discussed in a separate thread. A reboot of the CPS and VPU are necessary to clear the issue. The VPU reboots normally. The AVDAP service takes between 20 and 30 minutes to complete start up. I watch the AVDAP monitor during startup. There are three spots where it seems to stall. Nothing happens. I've learned it best to have a smoke, or go to the bathroom, so as not to get impatient and restart it again. After a while, the items begin to scroll again. I've had Mitel techs onsite for various reasons. They have commented about how long it takes to restart. But have not had any insights as to why or how to speed it up. We have an 80 Agent call center. You can imagine how popular I am during these periods. Do any of you have an idea to speed it up?

Is your VPU connected via RS232 or IP?

Is it an isolated network or are you sharing a LAN with other devices? I recommend putting in a switch (little 5 port) just for the system and VPU then connect the uplink port to the LAN. This will isolate the system and VPU from the LAN. Also it will let you know if the problem is broadcast etc... traffic coming from the LAN which could be delaying the sync between the VPU and System. One other thing... Have you ran a disk defragmentation tool on the VPU? (ie. disk keeper)

We must have VPU on the LAN. We perform automated backups. However, it has always had this problem. No, I've not run a defrag.

The disk is 78% free space, and a defrag is not suggested.
