I've got a customer with a Magix system and they are currently using 9 to dial out.
Some users are mistakenly dialing "911" when trying to make calls.
How do I change the dial out code from 9 to another number, preferably 8?
Thanks

Well, the "SYSTEM RENUMBER" part of the Standard SPM Menu can help you do that.

But 8 is a VERY BAD NUMBER.

All of your LINE NUMBERS, Park Zones and maybe some other things are set to start with 8.

Therefore, you would have to renumber all of those before you can change your Dial Out Code to 8.

How 'bout "5".

That's a good number......

Good Luck

How about disabling the "allow 11" feature - then your users will have to dial 9 and THEN 911 to reach emergency services, BUT, when they start to dial a long distance number, press 9 and "fat-finger" the 1 before the area code, they don't get 911
