Hmmm. Based on the results,I'd say he wired 1 & 2 to 4 & 5 and 4 & 5 to 1 & 2 respectively. IT cables over here are straight thru, 1-1 2-2 3-3 all the way to 8-8. But we have to use straight thru with some Smart Jack wanna-be's from some of the CLECs. And sometimes from DSL modems to switches, routers, and NIC cards. 'RJ45' has an analogy. It's called 'RS232'. Both of them seem to mean whatever whomever wants them to mean. RJ45 = 8P8C. RS232 = 25 pin 'D' connector! That, in my experience, is about all you can count on! Leprechauns!
