Does anybody know if there is some kind of change that was made to the dkt3020 phones effecting the speed dial button. I have a bunch of phones that have come in that the speed dial button is not working and I cannot find a problem with the boards or keypads etc and it is just way to many phones for me to buy its a coincidence. Anybody else having this problem.
Thanks John

Are they on a DK system ? If so they will not work, you will have to program a speed dial button on one of the keys

They fail on more then 1 type system they wont work on a ctx100 or a dk40i. If he unplugs a working phone and plugs in a bad phone it will not respond during test or function. Its like the button does not exist. The phones are here in the shop and not on site. The reason I am concerned about a bad revision or production run is we can see a good signal with a scope to the processor and it appears like it should work. I guess I was hoping for a response something like "oh yah product bull. ## covered that, it was a bad run etc". Oh well if it was not a hard way to go it would be someone elses life lol.

Not sure about this but what type of station card are you hooking up to? Could it be that its connecting to a PDKU or older card that makes the phone work as a 2k series phone?

The fixed speed dial button will NEVER work on a DK40, it is not supported in DK software.

Most likely Travis has your situation nailed. Make sure you have a BKDU or BWDKU station card in your 100 and the speed dial button should work perfect, that is IF you have a bin programmed for a speed dial.

You can have up to 100 bins (maybe more, not positive) but if you don't have a valid number in the bin you won't be able to make a call with the speed dial button.

Remember, [speed dial button] then [bin number]. Did you have an outside line group (dial 9) programmed in the speed dial string, did you hit [Intercom] first, did you hit an active line then [speed dial button] then [bin number] for a number that was not programmed to grab an outside line?

I think you have perfectly good phones, just not everything in place.

If the phones are in normal 3K mode, the display will extend across the entire display with the date/time/extension number.

If the phone is plugged into a DK system, or a CIX with a PDKU card installed, or if the phone was put into 2K mode to connect a cordless phone, then the display will only be 16 characters long.

When the phone is in 2K series mode, the speed dial key will not work. The phone will, I believe, beep when press even if in 2K series mode.

I have not heard of a batch of bad speed dial keys, like when they had a bunch of bad hookswitches on the 2K series phones.

Thanks for the input. Let me clarify known good port with a working phone unplug working phone plug in nonworking phone button does not work or give a beep or any response. This fails the same on multiple systems.
newtecky you nailed it when we rechecked the display it is coming up with a short display (2k mode)still no beep though This will give us a new avenue to trouble shoot. Thanks

Issue resolved. I guess these phones were used in the 2k mode previously. We reset them and all is well.
