Attention:

If you purchased a U40 board along with FM (Flash Memory/SANDISK memory cards) please make sure that you do not insert an FM card designed for a U30 board. (FMS/CMS) The FM cards that have been shipping from NEC for the past 6 months or so for U30 boards have VMP software at version Q216.

They are not compatible.

To be further specific, any U40 boards with FM memory cards running VMP software under Q501 are not compatible. They will boot, but certain functionality within voicemail fails.

Do not attempt to upgrade any FM memory cards running VMP Q216 in a U40 board. (If you have any U30 boards, you can upgrade to the latest Q512 without incident). If you do not have any U30 boards, then instead call NTAC and AV the Q216 VMP FM card for a replacement. Currently all VMP FM cards are now shipping on one single software version, which is Q512. Q512 is compatible with U30 and U40 boards.
