I am trying to configure an NEC Aspire VoIP system and I can't seem to get it to work.

I plugged a 4 channel VoIP gateway card in and configured it for 192.168.1.20 and then set up a DHCP server to give out addresses of 192.168.1.21 to 25. We normally use static addresses, but I can't get to the config screen on the phone. With the DHCP set up at least it grabs the 21 address (I can ping it), but now it gets stuck on the DRSC(1st) Connecting screen.

I have tried to press Hold, Conf, *, # to access the config on the phone, but it doesn't do anything.

Anyone have experience with this?

On a side note, the phone is a used one that was in place at another site. Is it possible it is looking for the old connections? Any way to "reset" the phone?

Also, I have tried to ping the VoIP address (20) and it doesn't respond. Should it? I have plugged in different cables and tested them with other devices. The lights on the switch come on like it is working normally.

Thanks,
Fred
