Hello, We've had a Vodavi STSe phone system installed with 8 extensions. No manual was included in the box so I have no idea how to go about programming and setting up the email. Can anyone help me? We open on Monday and we're screwed if we can't get this up and running by then. Thanks in advance. Ken

Ken:
Who installed it? They didn't train you on how to use the system? Are they an authorized dealer or was this an e-bay purchase?
All Vodavi STSe systems include all manuals and doccumentation on CD in the box with the system. If it isn't there, then your installer took it. Have you tried to contact the selling and installing company? I know it sounds like an obvious question, but they should be available after-hours.
This happens all too often. Fortunately, in your case, you are in a geograpically-favorable position.
Vodavi is headquartered in Phoenix and they have a local installation/service department. My suggestion would be for you to call them first thing on Monday at 480-443-6000 and ask them if they will send their installation division over to assist. There will definately be a charge for their services since they weren't the original installers.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but that system doesn't even have e-mail capabilities, so I think it's time to start at ground zero and find out exactly what the system you have purchased will actually do for your company.

Thanks Ed. The guy that installed it worked for Sun Microsystems for a number of years. He's started his own business wiring data and phone. He seems like a good guy but I don't think he's ever programmed on of these systems. He's wired my office for data and voice and installed the phone lines just fine but the programming of the Vodavi seems to be something he's not completely familiar with. For now we have Qwest voicemail so customers can leave messages at least.
He installed the email card for the Vodavi STSe. Apparently the card was bad and was replaced today. It worked. We now have a vague idea of how to setup individual voice mailboxes at each extension.
What I'd like the phone system to do is have an auto attendant answer the phone with a message like, "If you know your parties extension, you may dial it at any time. For a directory press 1, for sales press 2, to place an order press 3...etc. Then when they push one for the directory, the phone machine message should list individuals with their extension number. My extensions are 3 digits 100-107 so I'm not sure I can tell a customer to "press 2" and connect to a specific extension like 104. Do you know if the phone system is capable of this? Thanks again Ed. I will call Vodavi tomorrow and see about getting someone over here. Ken

IF the voice mail is the inskin flash voice mail, make sure whoever does the programming, initializes it prior to setting up or you may have problems down the road.

Ken:
Yes, once the voice mail card is initialized, it can be programmed to do what you are looking for.
