I know Comdial used to be an all American manufacturer, since the old Stromberg-Carlson days, but, are their KSU's and phones still manufactured in America or off-shore?

Good question, I really don't know if they are American made any more.

I don't think Comdial was ever totally American made. I usta open up phones way back when....The components were from Singapore etc., however to get an American Made status all that needs to be done is assemble the unit in the States and that some of the parts are manufactured here. But I may be wrong. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif)

That's a good point! But, the US assembly did allow them to put a "made in USA" sticker on the bottom of their phones.

AT ONE TIME Comdial KSU's,DSU's,DXP's, and FX's were made right in Charlottesville Va. The sheet metal was cut bent and painted right there. All telephone plastics were molded right there also. Circuit boards were designed there but farmed out for manufacture. The circuit boards had components inserted at Comdial and the product finished there as well. Surface mount technology was also handled completely by Comdial in Charlottesville. In 2001 most of the manufacturing equipment was auctioned off by Dove bids. And the manufacturing process was farmed out to other American companies. The DX80 is an off-shore product. I was at the auction and purchased some of the equipment. I still cry when I think of the quality products that dedicated employee's produced that are no longer.
