Generally you get what you pay for. Some phone systems have a 5-7 year phase out. Other systems will last forever if you keep them current in software and upgrades. I have to agree service is everything and checking references is key. No matter what the equipment you will need decent service. On a side note, this is totally IMHO don't buy ugly phones. If you are going to have the system in for years don't saddle yourself with ugly phones. Sorry, thats the non-tech in me talking.
