Ok, I have corrected the problem. Evidently, even though I had changed the subnet mask setting on the NSP, it apparently had not taken full effect. I changed the NSP address to another valid address, waited 30 seconds and then changed it back and now when I open VIP everything is working normally again. Don't know if anyone else here will ever benefit from this, but I figured it is worth posting the results just in case.
