Ever since installing the unified messaging client (ver 2.212) on our workstations running Outlook 2003, the Send/Receive button menu is expanded when Outlook starts. Is there anyway to fix this bug? Occasionally the menu will not go away without clicking other menu options.

That's an OLK2003 thing. To fix this do the following:
Go to Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options and then Com Ad-ins at the bottom and uncheck the outbox sender.dll option that is there. Close outlook and restart and the problem should be solved
