Does anyone have a successful music on hold solution for a 7100? (We also have a 7400)

I'm looking for an external player. From what I know so far, I'm going to have to terminate the audio cable into an RJ45 head fpr the MISC port. I've created this cable and just tried to test it quickly (with music on my cell phone) and it wouldn't work. I ran through all the options on the "IT TOOL" that relate to MOH.

Just curious to see what other's have found to work.

You made the cable and without going to my manual I think it is the most middle pair, pins 4+5 but I could be wrong.

So you can take that to whatever music source you want with just a little soldering to a Radio Shack 1/8" male mono plug or buy a pre-made cable for a buck or two that has a solid copper end and bean it together. That will fit into an iPod, a radio, an MP3 player or whatever.

OR, get an RCA end and plug that into some source with an RCA output, just remember that the volume control has to be the music source not the 7100.

DO NOT play the music source too loud, the 7100 will limit the volume and the music will sound horrid. That will be your fault. Start by l o w volume and work your way up.

Don't forget to program MMC408 for MOH and also 308 if you want background music.

OK. After I get that done, where it currently says "TONE" in the images below, what does it need to say? Perhaps I'm inept, but I haven't seen any mention of TONE in the manuals.
