i have a customer with a partner 5 by 9 processor r7. i sold them a few gen ll 18d phones and they called saying the caller id doesnt show up. two werent display sets. i dont remember any programing required. do they need a f17 button to show caller id or possibly something else. thanks dave

1) Phones have to ring.
2) CID is sent after the first CO ring cycle. So if someone picks it up before the second ring or there is an AA that does the same you aren't going to see the CID.

yes they have the service and yes some sets get caller id. i bet those sets dont ring and thats why they dont get caller id. they dont want them to ring unless transfered. i need to check to see if transfered calls show call id. if not perhaps they will let me make them ring and put the volume low. thanks for the help. dave

Bingo. No ring = no Caller ID. The Merlin Magix operates in the same manner.

on the set that are not ringing , to see the caller ID , just press the red flashing lines to see the CID without picking up the line, but remember the phone will beep after that call has ended
