Got it! I cheated by disabling the process that looks for the Megaport remote access board.
I created a Unixware 2.1.3 boot disk, booted the MAP5 with it, then mounted hard disc. Root level access is needed, however that process isn't shared here. With root privilege, go to /etc/conf.d/ and do a grep for "SPM". Edit both files (primary and shadow file) and "comment out" the line beginning with SPM. This is a process that automatically respawns, so the kill command simply won't do it.
This leaves the user without remote access, which is actually kinda cool. Any changes to voicemail MUST be done from the local console.
