Not quite. The processor and voicemail are completely separate modules that slide into the 5 module carrier. You can replace one without touching the other. (Think of the main chassis of the Norstar Meridian. You have 4 slots inside [at least our office system does], and each module can be removed and inserted independently of the others).

Now the hard drive could be toast, but I would still have someone check to make sure that the correct ports are assigned to Hunt Group #7.

(If the internal battery that keeps programming intact is dead, a power failure can mess up the programming).
