I recently replaced my server that had the Partner Admin software on it and unfortunately it also had the password on it. I haven't had to get into the phone system for years and don't remember my password. Can someone help me with resetting the password so I can administer this ASC R7 unit. Thank

Craig

Are you talking about the software to administer the Partner ACS or Partner Messaging voicemail? With the ACS you can set the remote access password via regular administrative programming from ext 10 or 11 - it's in #730. If you're talking about the voicemail, you can access via serial port or get your Avaya Business Partner to assist.

What kind of cable do you need to connect your PC to the Partner messaging? DB9-female to DB-25 female? Straight or null-modem or something else? Will HyperTerminal work?

@Butch - you should really start a new thread...
Partner messaging has both serial and Ethernet connectors. Both are presented via 8-pin modular jack. The type of cable somewhat depends on the device that you're connecting. For the serial, I use an Avaya 355AF to a classic modem serial cable to my laptop's db9M connector.

OP's question was answered.
Yes Butch, you need to open a new topic instead of hi-jacking an existing one.
Hi-jacking makes a mess of the board, kinda like a spill in aisle 3............lol
Also the question your asking would be better suited for the installers section, as it really isn't user end info.

Hope you understand.
