We have legend 7 system. The extension #104 (mlx28) with message light on rings to extension #112 every couple minutes from this morning. This phone is ok when it is moved to other port. Any good mlx phone is plugged into this port, the phone immediately rings to #112. I would appreciate any help.

What type of voice mail system are you using? Sounds like it might be trying to notify extension 112 from 104. It might also be setup for call back or camp on. When it rings to 112, what does it say in the display?

Thanks, There is no voice mail. After I plug in this phone (mlx28d), the lights of message, hfai & speaker are on and it rings to ext.112 immediately, there is no any message but ext 112 in the display. After picking up handset, the ring stops and light of speaker disappears and lights of hfai & message are still on, there is no ext. 112 in the display. After handing up the handset approx. 4 minutes, it rings again.

Do the symptoms occur if you plug the MLX-28D directly into the port located on the card in the Legend carrier

I do not have spm. I did all program by MLX-20L.
There is no chance to plug MLX-28D directly to port in the cartridge, because I did following below on Saturday:
1. moved line 112 to 113 port to avoid bothering the person in 112.
2. restore the backup of August, 2009. The 104 extension still ringed to 112.
3. unplug MLX-28D 104 extension for approximate 4 hours, then plug the line to phone without DDS. Strangely extension 104 with message light on stopped to ring ext. 112.
4. plug DDS by my wife that night, the MLX-28D with the message light on did not ring 112.

So far so good there is no problem. I would appreciate if someone know how to remove the message light.

Thank you very much for all help!

Just hit menu, msg, delete from your MLX phone and the MWL will go away.

I did from this console MLX-28D ext. 104 many times, there is no message, but message light is still on, even last night. I also check the primary console, MLX-20L, there is no message either, after I push menu, message. Can you check the message light from primary console MLX-20L by system program?
Last night the extensin 112 was switched back. 104 did not ring to 112 (Standard 2500 set).

Thanks, again.

If you go to the messages menu you can see who sent the message to the phone or you can call back the message sender to figure out who sent it. From there you can maybe figure it all out.
