Hi,

Few weeks ago on email I saw a seller selling a Legend phone system along with a 8434dx phone. He had a pic of it plugged in the the legend card. I was wondering if a 8434DX really works on a legend as I never have seen that my self and would think only the MLS phones would work.

Thank you
Brian

There are several phones that will work with the Merlin Legend system. Depending on what cards are present in the carrier(s), you can use:

1) MLX phones
2) MLS, Euro 1 & Euro 2 phones
3) Single-line phones
4) ATL phones (Classic Merlin units)

From the very limited information I can find online, it appears that the 008D was strictly a Merlin II module and not supported by the Merlin Legend:

"008D supported digital phones, but limited selection All Merlin II, not
supported in Legend"

(Taken from John L. Shelton's "Overview of Merlin
Phone Systems" Release 5....2003....page 22/72)

AT&T had a lot of not supported any more ,unless you paid more for it to work,
