There is a company at www.statussolutions.com that has a product that allows a text to go to a cell phone, pager, etc. Nursing Homes like it because they don't have to page someone every time. Has anyone worked with this?

It's my understanding that IPO R.8 has an app built in internally that will do this,.... but we haven't tried it yet.

We've interfaced to SARA via analog station port - no fuss, no muss. Mike

Mike, my understanding is that we must purchase the product from a reseller and the reseller will give the support. Mdaniel, I am trying to find out info on this with no success yet.

Mforrence, can this product allow a predetermined text be sent from an Avaya phone? For example, the maintenance guy is needed in room 212. Rather than page overhead they want to be able to push a button(s) and initiate the text from any phone.

@DigitelD - I think that I misunderstood your question... You can purchase SARA from distribution such as Jenne. SARA does a bazillion things that IP Office can't - mostly centered around monitoring sensors, etc. You'd be hard-pressed to get IPO to do SARA stuff. Mike

The customer only needs to be able to send out text messages and I know that SARA can do that. But, can it be configured so that users can dial a shortcode and send out preconfigured messages through the SARA system?

@DigitelD - I've never set up that type of config with SARA. I'm sure that it could be done. Shortcode could dial via analog station port connected to SARA Or you could use a VMPro interface with database control. Or maybe 3rd party IP interface. You certainly wouldn't buy SARA for just that functionality... Mike

DD, I'm pretty sure the One-X Mobile (preferred edition) App will do what your wanting. Only thing is you will send the message via a PC instead of a desk phone.
