As a best practice, should the extension number of a hunt group match the DID number for calling groups? For example if the trunk number is 555-1212 should the operator hunt group be extension 1212? Are there any drawbacks to mapping the DID to an group with a different extension number? Or is it just a convenience to do it this way. This is also a quation for DID to station mapping. If I have DID range of 555-1701 to 555-1720 should my extension be 701 to 720? Or perhaps 1701 to 1720?

If you have such a range you don't care about numbering plan if your exts have a numbers 100, 200, 300 up to 123, 223, 323. In your Incoming routing you are doing entry 0 with 4 digits to expect, 2 digits to delete and insert 1, 2 or 3. One entry will take care of intire DID range.

Might help to know which system you are asking about Jack. And BTW, most of the questions you are asking lately are above and beyond what is to be discussed in the open forums and is better suited for the "Installer" section. If you don't have "Installer" acsess, you can apply here .
