Partner messaging R7 A single line set cannot do a direct voicemail transfer. A normal transfer, does not work because dialing "9" for general mailbox 9991 gives them an outside line. Is there a way around this other than to replace s-l sets with system phones? Thank's

Is there a reason you have to transfer to 9991 and not x10s VM? Just a thought ...

What happens if you transfer to a guest mailbox then when it picks up *8 to 9991?

Unfortunately, you can't use Feature 14 from a single line phone. And even from a multiline phone, you can't use it to get to mailbox 9991.
However, you could make a guest mailbox, on an extension number from somewhere between 10 and 57, and make 9991 the phantom destination of that mailbox. Just record a greeting that is the same as the real general mailbox.
So, for instance, pick 50. Give it Auto VMS Coverage, set its VMS Coverage Rings to 1, set the phantom destination to 9991, and record and activate a greeting. Then just do a regular flash/transfer to 50, and you're in!

Thank's Tommy, that worked out great! Thank you too, Hal. Thats not a bad idea and it would work but after the transfer the caller would have to dial the *89991, creating a "seam" in the mix. Thank You, again, for the help guy's.

At least I was on the right track. Tommy's method built on it. -Hal
