We have a IP 406 with DS30 expansion modules. I need to locate some 44xx stations 2000 feet from the DS30, can it be done?

I have found some info that says 1km (thats over 3000 feet)on Cat.5. I have 22ga cat.3 cable avabile. I know if I do it I need primary and secondary protectors as the extensions will be in a different building.

I currently have some extensions operating at 500 feet but am not sure if I can go 2000.

Thanks Todd

I just logged into the system and found the stations I am trying to remote are 4424's so I guess I am out of luck. I do not want to push the limits as this is a mission critical application (FD Dispatch)

I may be able to use the 4412 as I only need 7 line appearances, yea I know IP office was not designed for line appearances but I have to have them in this application.

I am going to try the 4424 when I get on site next week but even if it works I cannot use it out of spec due to liability reasons.

Tryed a 4424 set on the 2000 foot cable and it worked fine. After I add about 100 feet of station cable I will try it again then for the final test I will add another 500 feet (still in the box) and see if it still works.

I do not understand why the 4424 is listed as only working at 1640 feet while all other sets are over 3000 feet.

Will report back after I add another 600 feet (500 longer than I need to go)
