Greetings all, i havent done any phone stuff in a long time but recently our company has been doing alot lately ( i work for an electrical contractor) there used to be a number that you could call that would tell you what number you're calling from. im from the southern california area and the number i used to know was 211-2121. you would call this number and a voice would tell me what number it was. no matter what area code i was in. i was wondering if anyone knows about a new number that works the same way. sometimes i call myself on my cell phone to get the caller id, but sometimes that isnt possible and trying to get that service number out of the phone company is pretty much not gonna happen. i would really appreciate it if someone could help me out

If you'll use the search feature, below "post a poll" and look for ANI or ANAC or number identifier, I think you'll find a ton of information on this subject. Welcome to the board.

hey, thanks bill. i tried searching at first, i just didnt know the correct phrases to use. i found exactly what i needed to know, and other stuff. something tells me im gonna be here for a few days doing alot of reading. this stuff is addicting. :-)
