Can't remember the exact limit of 34-D's you can use on 012 module.

I thought I read somewhere that it was 4 sets because of power issues but not sure. Searched everywhere.
Also wondering if there is a limit of 34D's on a full blown ACS 12x32 w/VS voicemail.

Never seen an issue with do many 34-D's.
Avaya doesn't recommend more than (2) 012 Cards per 5-slot carrier of which they have a built in power monitor that will automatically start dimming the display lights if to much power is consumed.
And you should have no issues using a VS mail.

No specific number of 34Ds given, but...

From the Troubleshooting section of the R8.0 Installation, Programming, and Use:

"012E Module Power Management

The power supply used in the 012E module is adequate to power the 12 ETR ports under normal
conditions. However, if too many large PARTNER telephones (such as the PARTNER-34D) are
off-hook with speakerphone volume set to high levels, the power supply could be overloaded.
Power management of the 012E module eliminates the power supply overload.
When a power threshold is exceeded, all telephones connected to the 012E module will appear as
follows:

â–  LED display dims to a minimal level
â–  Speakerphone volume is decreased

To clear this condition, place one of the telephones connected to the 012E module on-hook. The
LED display and speakerphone volume on all telephones return to normal. If this power
management event occurs frequently, you should consider moving some telephones to available
ports on other modules."

I may be hi-jacking this post but a customer I looked at today has a 7.0 proc with 3 012 cards, it works fine but they want to add another 012. This is a hotel and has only 1 34d set and 2 18d sets and 1 3910. Mike can you expand on the problems that are created by having more than 2 012 cards? Thanks

Nothing other than you can't just keep adding extensions. The Partner has a maximum capacity of 48. You already have 44. All that 012 will give you is another 4.

Also keep in mind PENCOM, that if they use the little PCMCIA card mail AA for x-fer to the rooms you can not transfer to a 5X ext number by direct ext transfer.
