In an IPO V2 In there any way to control the volume of the MOH when you use the WAV file settings. When I change the volume in the media player in manager program files it doesn't change on the IPO.

You could try importing the WAV into Audacity, lowering the volume there, and saving back to the IPO.

TTT Is spot on (as usual). The file actually is uploaded to the IP500, so the media player will have no control.

You need to download the file, modify, then upload again to the IP500.

The volume in media player just adjusts the volume from your speakers.

So yeah, looks like another "oversight" by Avaya programmers. No provision to adjust the MOH volume. Gee, the old Partner had that...

I agree with Tommy, the only way to do this is open the wav file in an audio editing application (Audacity is my favorite and it's free) and adjust the level. Probably gonna have to edit it then load it into the IPO a few times until you get it right. When you do, make a note of what the level is that the IPO likes so in the future you can edit the file first then load it and know that it is correct.

I was wondering if this fix is an in theory fix or am I doing something wrong. I Export .WAV file from Program Files/Avaya/Manager to Audacity a just the volume to barely audible, Import back to the same place. I reboot the system wait the 5 minutes for it to find the .WAV File and the MOH is still the same.

Well, either you are not working with Audacity correctly or the IPO has an ALC that brings the level back up.

Let me ask you, how in Audacity are you adjusting the volume? You DON'T use the slider at the top left next to the speaker symbol. That is only the output volume to your speakers and is the same as the media player or your sound card volume control.

The level is adjusted with in the track control panel to the left of the waveform. The level control is the - + and right below that is the balance L R. When you adjust the level it will be shown by the Vu meter at the top. Remember what it says!

After you adjust the level this way you export it as a .wav file. I would suggest renaming it when you do so as not to overwrite the original. You then load the new exported file into the IPO.

If you have to work with the file again you always start with the original. That's why I said pay attention to the Vu meters.

Thanks Hal,
I was using the wrong volume control in Audacity. It is working now.I would think a volume control in Manager wouldn't be to much to ask for from Avaya.

Audacity is free, but what about the time it takes to modify a file?
