I am trying to link my SX2000 to an Asterisk PBX via a T1 to allow to two remote extentions access the system via VOIP. I can dial from the Mitel to an extension on the Asterisk box with no problems, but when I dial from Astrisk to the Mitel, nothing happens, other than the incoming channel on the DS1 formatter showing as "Locked Out" until I disconnect the call from the Asterisk box. Anyone have any suggestions on where I should be looking? Thanks! James

I have a couple of questions/suggstions:
1. Check the "Incoming Start Type" in the Mitel Trunk Descripter Assignment. 2. Check the the same option Asterisk PBX 3. What is the Asterisk PBX "sending" across the trunk? What does SMDR in the Mitel show?

Kevin,
Thanks for replying. The Mitel is set for wink on incoming, and the ASterisk PBX is set for e&m wink. When I check the smdr log, there is nothing to show the attempted connection. The "Locked Out" status is it. Are there other logs that might contain info about errors coming in from the ds1?

James,
The maintenance logs might show some info.
What type of T1 card are you using in the Mitel? Model number if you can get that...

If the status in the Mitel system is going to "Locked Out", that means that the trunk was seized, but no digits or invalid digits were received.

Bingo! The Mitel was set to not expect any digits. I told it to absorb zero digits and it started working like a champ!
Thanks to everyone who took time to reply!

Smyth, What card did you use in your Asterisk server. I am looking to hook up my 200SX to an Asterisk server and allowing those that use a specific leading digit to go out via Voip. Not sure which provider yet. And what wireing did you use to connect the T1 cards. Thanks, Scott
