80% of the time the wrong caller ID number is being recorded in the SMDR. The situation is this, a customer calls a toll free number that routes to our client, the client reroutes the call to us. The SMDR is recording the caller ID as the toll free number (client) instead of the customer number. Any suggestions on where the problem is?

Answers: switch is PBX mitel SX 2000, recording device is SMDR, equipment/circuits are PRI over Fiber, rerouting I believe is 800 number call forward to our DID.

the 2000 is a difficult animal, and you are not a 2000 tech. There are some specifics when dealing with a 2000,SMDR and PRI. SMDR is not a recording device it is more of a delivery device. SMDR reports what it is told to example. name,number,ani/dnis,attendant transfers, meter pulses, csid, qsig. I think you need to call a dealer to get this problem solved.

It sounds as though the client pbx is passing the dnis info when it transfers a call to the pbx. Do all direct dialled calls show up correctly?
