We have 2 Pri T1's which carry our DID traffic. Currently we are stripping the lead digit for a 3 digit extension plan. I am working with QWEST to put about 13 Centrex lines from copper into my DID range. Can I take the 4 digits and Digit translate them somehow toward a 3 digit analog ext vs stripping the first digit? Exa: last 4 digit are 2050, and if we strip the 2 then we have a 050 being passed. Thank you in advance

What is your current did range? You may be able to use system speed dial bins to redirect numbers, i.e. absorb digit and insert speed dial access code followed by the 3 digit bin. Depending on how many 0 conflicts, you could also tenant the trunks and reroute their operator. You could also keep the conflict lines for backup dialout and forward them via centrex to an unused did. Just some thoughts.

My Current DID Range is 7600 - 7799 and 7400 - 7459. I have enough DID's. Sounds like the system speed dial bins are something like a digit translation? Whenever the system sees the new Centrex #'s they would translate to whatever extension is in the Speed dial config? Exa: 1040 would translate to a new did ext. 7601?
I will be keeping a couple of centrex lines for backup, 911 or T1 outage.
Thank you in advance

You are correct, in the 600-799 bins you would put 600-799 and the same for 400-459 to keep the 1 to 1 dialing. In bin 040 you would translate to whatever extension.

I'm confused... Couldn't you do the same thing in Form 15? You might have to insert digits that aren't currently used in your numbering plan, to avoid conflicts, but that shouldn't be a problem...

If the odd numbers were directed to specific channel(s), and the 7XXX dids were to others then form 15 could easily handle what needs to be done. My suggestion allows him to not only use the in-bound channels dynamically, but also an easy way to manipulate the odd numbers, especially 0 conflicts. This solution, which I have used in the past, seemed to fit his need.

Ah, I see.

I've done the same on NECs, now that I think about it. I missed that he was converting existing #s onto DIDs.

I have used this method many times in the past with the speed dial tables.
Did you guys hear that Mitel is finally building a routing table for there new software versions though.
This will make life alot easier, and more flexable.
