Ok I have a 200 El. I have 2 port off of an ONS card that are pointed to casio phone mate answering machines. I have those 2 port in a hunt group that is circ, and type auto attnd. I have the code programmed. All this is set up to work on night mode. Now when I put this system in night mode calls will route to the ports, you hear the message, message says our hour are, if you now the room press it now, if you want the bar press thes ext and restaurant this ext. Well when you press the ext. It does not go anywhere. Eventually you hear the end of msg and you get hung up on. Any ideas why this would not work? They swear it used to work. If someone did not put anything in it would not hang up on you it would automatically transfer you to the bar. I did put that ext in the options portion of the hunt group. No dice. Ideas? I have made many support calls to no avail.

i don't think the casio phone mate answering machine will function as an auto attendant. you would need an autoattendant device or a voicemail system.

You might be able to do that if you can get the Casio to insert a "flash" before the transfer-to extension. You probably need to hunt down the Casio manual that someone threw away ten minutes after the first set-up.

But don't rely on the customer's say-so. I have a 90-9-1 rule: 90% of the time, the customer is mis-informed. 9% of the time, the customer is lying. 1% of the time, the customer is not lying and not misinformed -- but the customer NEVER knows what they're talking about. (Don't repeat to customer).

You may want to go another route, i.e. add voicemail, or a purpose-designed auto-attendant (Cobotyx? CallExtend?), or, if the customer's really cheap, you can sometimes pick up a used Lingo VMail off of eBay for about $50 - $100; and it will work, and will even insert a flash.

Good luck.

The hunt group type needs to be set as an "auto-attend" type. This assumes that the EL has that system feature enabled.
