spent 2 days triing to figure out why the spectralink phones kept getting "no svp server response". Then the phone would reboot and say "no dhcp server" for 30 seconds then bootup fine. Then 1-5 minutes later the phone would say again "no svp server response"
-NO vlan ==voice only network -all brand new equipment on same subnet/ no duplicate ip's used -dlink 1316 switch with 8 ports POE and 8 reg ports -5 x ORiNOCO Wireless AP-600 Access Points -sx-200ICP providing DHCP
wired internet: -do a continuous ping to the SVP server. would periodically lose connectivity. -SVP server had no packet errors, did not reboot or shutdown. Link light always on. Upgraded to the latest and greatest software.
Wireless internet: -sometimes could not get an dhcp address- but eventually would  - continuous pings to the svp server and phone system had worse results than the wired internet - antennas--AP's seemed OK
THE FIX/QUESTION: took the DLINK 1316 switch out of the picture & put in a plain 8 port switch in PROBLEM DISAPPEARED.. :bang: :bang: :bang:

IP Sh$t is crazy . We have a user on a 6510 vm who's programmed last name was Hangupred . He complained that he would call the VM pilot and get cutoff 50% of the time . Well we worked on the issue and worked on the issue . He was 3 pbx's away from the VM system so we moved him to be local to the VM system . Same trouble . We changed his profile to be Smith and not Hangupred and the problem went away . The UM was looking at 'Hangup'red as a Hangup request . I'm too old to learn new things !

@ OBTW : "We changed his profile to be Smith and not Hangupred and the problem went away . The UM was looking at 'Hangup'red as a Hangup request." Interesting case. Also at a VM type "Active Voice" connected with a "sx 2000" on DNI ports users with numbers on names (ex.: Office no.2) weren't recognized in VM (because the number from name was put (added) in extension's number) - so I have to rename that user (Office no. two)

Yeah We have operators that login using a U A P name on SX2000 . We have to be really carefull that their U A P login name does not conflict with any other entries in the Tel-Dir . Thats gets tough when you have more than 12,000 Tel-dir entries on a clustered site . So every time we need to add or change one . We have to log out then log back in using the new U A P to make sure it works . :thumb:
