I am working for a client who has two hotels that use this Mitel SX-200 phone system. Both were damaged by a lightning strike. Two vendors that I have had out said that model line was discontinued and new parts were no longer available. They are now suggesting to upgrade to the Mitel SX200ICP. Is it true that the Mitel SX-200 is no longer supported? Also, is the Mitel SX200ICP the most like kind and quality system compared to the SX-200? If not, what other models are available that are more like it? Thanks

The SX200 is discontinued. There are refurbished parts available, but it could take awhile to find them, and your client could be down for days. From an insurance standpoint, the insurance company wants to see an "as like" piece of equipment, which would be the SX-200 ICP. Still Mitel, and a good upgrade.

The "SX200" is still supported by Mitel. The neweset version (SX200ICP) is what they are currently offering for a new installation, but technical support, parts and service are still readily available.
Of course this all depends on the version and/or configuration of the "sx200" you're looking at!

FYI, TelQuest doesn't advertise Mitel's anymore, something about a lawsuit???
We've got a warehouse full of refurbed Mitel equipment!

There are plenty of SX200 Analog systems and parts available. Those two systems are only an over night away from being repaired.

Try Koltelco.com. They are the people that were the Mitel part of Telequest. Decent prices and they do offer support.

Those are probably the SX200 Analog ca. 1982-1990?? , which is no longer supported, and neither is the SX200D - Light ca. 1991 - 2000??.

The SX200 ML/EL is no longer sold by Mitel, though it is still supported with tech support and can be purchased through "middlemen" like Graybar or Genesis.

The SX200 ICP is the current model.

If these were SX200 Analogs that you're dealing with, it's time to replace them... when a phone system can vote, it's time to replace it.

Altho I went to MITEL school on the analog 200, (man am I getting old, that was 204 release!) I have to agree TG is right. Everything out there has been repaired several (too many) times. Kinda like overhauling an engine so many times the cylinders get bored out into the water jacket.
And don't go for a disc operated Mitel, 200D, Lite. It would let you use analog cabinets, but it's a poor investment.
The ML/EL is a good choice in used/refurbished system because when the controller dies, you can jump to an SX200ICP as a controller.
But, If you want maximum reliability and support life, 200ICP is the way to go.
You pays your money and makes your choice!

Fred at Resale is a solid source. I have used Resale as a Mitel vendor in the past with success.
