We were recently contracted to do some lightening protection on a local Hotels Phone and TV distribution systems. While I was there the customer asked about something that keeps popping up on their SMDR report. The message that appears is "Datachip expired 14 days ago, please contact dealer."
I've searched through all the documentation I can find and do not get any hits on "Datachip". Really not a big deal as it is not in our Scope of work and do not want to step on the Mitel dealers toes, but I told I would try and find out what it meant for her.

I'm guessing that it's an InnForms XL call accounting system, and that the data chip inside it has expired the warranty period for free upgrades, etc. I would advise the PBX vendor of the problem. It's not any kind of fatal error, it's just time to do an upgrade on the call accounting data chip (for updated area codes, etc.)

Thanks, I will pass the info along. She will be glad to hear that it is not anything major. I appreciate your insight.
