Hello. I have a question regarding a Mitel SX-200 EL. I'm currently using an emulator to access the switch remotely, Does Mitel (or anybody else) provide any software for the SX-200 EL to make the switch administration any easier? I've tried to register with Mitel to get some answers from them, but they've rejected my application. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Cann't be anythink easier then Mitel Administration. It is manu driven switch and if you have any knowlege of PBX programming you can do it very easy.

Terminal emulation and a modem is the way to go. I use Procomm Plus. Mitel did make a gui thing called My Administrator, but it is limited in functionality. Never had any customers who used it also system had to have software option enabled for its use. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Of all the PBXs I have worked on Mitel is just about the easiest to find your way around during programming. They are menu driven in a way that many others are not. I personally use PC Plus to access but any VT100 or ANSI emulation will work. I know a lot of people use hyperterminal.

We set up IP to RS232 adapters on both the maint and printer ports of the systems. It allows telnet to the system and makes form prints super simple.
We had an onsite terminal adapter, but the Precidia units would work nicely. It just gives more range than RS232 if you have a network available.
Without needing a modem on each admin PC.
