anyone out there using guild ftp server to do this kind of thing? Trying to get mine set up. Loads of fun

Actually running SME Server for office mail, web server and FTP. Since it is basically the same as Mitel's MAS Server, the learning has been easier. Using some add-ins, I have my remote sites accessing ftp only, and username and password sends requests to a desiginated directory. I wish Mitel would add SFTP capabilities for better security, now I check periodically for unwanted activity. I have also done some remote upgrades as well as backups, although I believe upgrades should be done on site.

This works for me, YMMV

P.S. There is even an asterisk add-in available, have tried it since I don't need it

Thanks, but guild is free so I am determined to make that work. I guess I will just futz around with it more until I get it working. Learning curve.

I assume that most of the server programs will work the same can someone tell me what groups and folders they have set up on the server for back-up and are you using anonymous log-in?

I use Guild all the time, I created under System in Guild, Mitel then under Mitel, FTP then when in FTP under the tab Paths on the bottom section I have created the path c:\ftproot, then in my pc done the same under "c", give this path all the attributes, RWADCL, hope this helps if not let me know.
