The system is an SX 200EL. I have a BCC out on shelf 3 and am waiting on a replacement. Is there any way to clear the major alarm that is on the console thru the programming?
Thanks

Sure, go into the alarm area in the maintenance side and tell the system that that shelf is ok with 100% alarm on all alarm sources. Be sure to reset it after you replace the defective BCC! Of course, I've never tried it when there really was a major, only when I was telling it that the shelf was ok with 100%, because it didn't exhist. I don't know if you can do it with slots populated and periphials programmed. John C.

Won't hurt anything to set it at 100%

Seems to me that if you have an entire bay down you SHOULD have a major alarm. As soon as you replace the card, the alarm will go away!

He's just trying to stop the alarm until the part comes in. Got to be driving the console operator nuts! John C.

Or driving him nuts as each new shift pages him for an emergency, because the console says "Major Alarm."
I've had them page me in the middle of the night because the console had a flashing "alarm" on it (you know, the one that just makes you read the logs?).

That's why I never enable console display of alarms. A flashing alarm was treated like an alien invasion.
