Sounds like camp-on
Programming Command 100, System Options, Register 11, Time out Selection: • Set Timed Recall - Camp-on (Trunks) (field c) to 1 ® 7 (10 ® 70 seconds). Default is 3 (30 seconds). Command 121 ® 129, COS 1 ® COS 9 Programming, Register 8: By default, camp-on is enabled for all types of callers. To disable, set the appropriate field to 0. The fields are: • Extension Camp-on (field b) • Trunk Camp-on (field c) • Inward Dial Trunk Camp-on (field d)

I don't think it has something to do with Camp-on Recall. Camp-on rings at the Transferred Extension after Ext. hangs up. Besides to perform Camp on you have to dial a code after getting busy from Ext. I think that Timed Recall-No Answer has to be Increased (Com.100, Reg.11, d = 1-7 x 10 sec). Default is 10 sec.

Is the console releasing the call to the busy room (camp on), or is the console going back to the outside caller, telling them the room is busy, and then releasing?

Look it may just be as simple as something like the Central Office is not releasing the trunk when the outside caller hangs up. I would suggest anytime you get something like this back on the console (no one there) you just hit cancel first before hitting release. I think this may take care of your problem.

CPC recognition is turned off in trunk programming, or disconnect signal is not getting to SX50 trunk(s). Call is transferred to room, call camps onto busy or ring no answers, then returns to console. Trunk has not released because the Disc signal from the c.o. was not recognized/received. Call is sent back to room and cycle is repeated, ad naseum. As Dane said, on RECALL, confirm no one is there, hit CANCEL, then RELEASE. Otherwise, the cycle will repeat until console lets 5 minute ringing call timeout be reached and trunk is dropped, OR CANCEL, RELEASE is used to CANCEL transfer, and RELEASE the trunk. John C.
