Don't know if this belongs in the Mitel forum or the Intertel forum.

We currently are using an Intertel 5400 switch, but have inherited a Mitel 3300 CX system from a branch of the company that has been shut down.

The Mitel 3300 CX has 44 endpoint licenses configured...is it possible to transfer the "class D" licenses from a Mitel swich to an Intertel switch? Or are the Mitel licenses a entirely different?

I don't think you can move them I know Mitel will not help with it. I tried to move 2 off a system to another on a new install (networked systems, same customer) prior to it going in and was told to buy 2 more for the switch I needed them in.

We bought 2 Mitel 3300 systems off ebay and as far as Mitel is concerned they are greyware so they charged us $1100.00 to transfer the license....per box

The licenses are completely different. You can transfer 3300 licenses between app records but on the 5000 you cannot. I think we are still a while off before the integration will allow us to get to that point.

Wellll, you cannot transfer licenses between the 3300 and the 5000, but it is possible to move the licenses between licensed 5000 systems. We have to get an OK from our Mitel rep, then call into the licensing people @ Mitel and pay a fee. This tells me that smooth license transitions on the 5000 is on the radar.

Phone Boy,

What you got for your money wasn't license transfer, but re-enrollment for lack of a better word. I would think that your licenses are locked to thier resective systems, but I could be wrong. I know that Mitel did setup some type of grey market license thing on the amc.
