Installing new SX 200ICP MX with hospitality. Its been over a yearand a half since I went to class and now I have one to install. I work on the EL's daily and can program it once I get it up but ........my problem is I can't remember about the software. My system did not come with a compact flash. I thought I was suppose to have one. Do I have to go to Mitel's web site and download the application record ID directly to the 200? I am confused. Once I get it up I can get it programmed its just getting the software on it. I don't remember how. If I could get steered in the right direction I would be grateful.
Thanks for the help!

Programs just like an EL. Either has a compact flash of hard drive installed. You can print/view the moss record on the amc, there is no direct download for the options.

I do quite a few of these. They usually come with a default database installed (unless you ordered it differently) if it has a hard drive. I finally got smart enough to program one up with my COS, most system options, the access codes I like to use and all common routing info. I built COS for most contingencies on trunking say - PRI and T1.
Now when I get a new system I just do an FTP database restore and then do my station programming etc. If I have to upgrade/change the software level or activate second language on the system I just build the appropriate database upgrade and load it via FTP. If you do it local and don't have ftp server on your computer you can do it via kermit file for the restore. To do the software upgrade though you would need to do it via flash card upgrade.
It saves me about three to four hours of repetitive keystrokes per system. Plus it saves me from having to go back and revisit the correct COS settings for trunking and some sets in manuals.

Looking at my entry above I see I didn't say do a backup after getting all "common data" programmed. You can save that as baseload (or something similar.

One thing I miss from NEC on Mitel is the ability to "script" programming. I had standard scripts for common options, FACs, etc.
But Mitel has compensating benefits.

If you are using Procom or some other software that will allow you to program Meta Keys you can eliminate a lot of keystrokes.
