I have a sx-50 whos owner has switched 3 trunks from ground start to loop. the trunks are 73,74,75 on slot 10. Does anyone have the programing procedure to change those from GS to LS? Please. Please.

Program command number 573, register 2 bit G needs to change from 1 to 0. Same for 574 and 575.

Now...being a Nortel and Panasonic kinda guy...(i was certified in the mitel sx-2000 about a hundred yrs ago...with centigram vm)... Can these changes be made at the attendant console, or with a pc and hyper term @ the rs-232 port? I was able to scare up an old manual thats tattered and missing pages...i dont see anything about term. interface...but it does refer to 'command codes'...I'm guessing the 'function codes' are strictly 'user options'.

You have to do it from the console or remotely if you have a universal card with a modem module on it.

SX50 is only programmable through the console. The function codes are changeable, although most don't. The 50 is capable of conflict dialing. Like room 123 and 12 as dial call pickup. Try to avoid it, it slows things down ! John C.

I'm not a 50 guy myself, but I have to go with Dane on the remote programability. From a quick review of the manual, I did see mention of a rmats module.

FWIW, just put my 100-200 analog rmats center to rest this year.

I have about 10-12 50s that I get into remotely from time to time. You have to connect at 300, E, 7, 2 so it's a bit slow, but the modems are usually very reliable. If you actually have a terminal program that can do text capture (I use PuTTY but if you are on Windows Hyperterminal or Procomm will work) then you can actually list registers and capture the data - which saves the 8,000 pages of pages of paper if you dump to a printer.

don't the 50's have grd start only card that must be swapped for a loop start card?

My bust, yes you can program with the RMATS modem/universal card combo. Even from another extension within the system! I was just discussing this with someone Monday. Must be old Timers!
But it is TEDIOUS at 300 AND if you are in ARS, no outgoing calls are possible. But, it sure beats driving 2-3 hours for a minor change that the owner/manager is afraid to be walked through.
Trunk card swap is not necessary, hence the label LSGS 8 (or 4). John C.

I didn't know that if you were programming the ARS you couldn't make calls. Interesting. I guess I just never ran into the problem.
