I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find any info regarding error codes. I have a bay that keeps resetting. The message in the logs are Bay 1 reset-Reported cause unass trap instn @ address 0004469E. Then another message related to this event would be Bay 1 reset due to bay 1 PCM. At other times it resets I get a cause of bus error @ address 000001AE. The bus errors are @ different addresses for example @ 0000007C,00001142,0000112A there are several more. Sometimes I'll get the: Reset by MCC @ address 00000000. I've replaced the BCCII card, the only digital in the shelf (DNIC). The resetting stopped for several days after the BCC was replaced and started up again. Any Ideas? This PBX (in a Hotel) was installed in 2002, I believe. It's in a room that adjoins to the boiler room. Everything in the Comm room has a sooty, oily film on it. Sorry for the long and rambling post.

Time to get out the PCB cleaner and CAREFULLY and THOROUGHLY clean the MCC and BCC. Make a Backup of the program FIRST. Take off the Flash card and the little ident module and don't forget to clean them AND re-install them! (Been there ) You may have to clean all the boards. Don't forget, they have TWO sides and FOUR edges. And, of course, there is always the power supply, AND the cabinet backplane. But, I'd start with just the BCC and MCC.

Thanks for the reply Lightning. I guess the thing to do is to rip er apart and clean it up. I'm not sure what PCB cleaner is. Do you have any recommended product? Do you have any idea where I can find some document to explain the error codes?

PCB = Printed circuit board cleaner. Typically a spray can containing a mixture of 1 of the freons and one of several chemical cleaners. >Sometimes flammable, read the label.< I hold the board by 1 edge over a trash basket and hose it down several times, on both sides, with waits for the frost to evaporate. Let it warm up again and then grab it by the opposite edge and repeat. Avoid spraying your hand, FROST and possible chemical action that you want to avoid. READ THE LABEL FIRST!!! Radio Shack has been a source, but I haven't been in one lately and they are changing their retail focus to cell phones video, and music. Not much in the way of DIY anymore. As for sources for alarm definitions, most of what you are quoting is Mitel live tech help information. Alarm definitions in the manuals are generally not nearly as specific. See another current thread in this forum for more info on alarm definition sources.
