Just curious - how difficult (involved) is it to change the IP address of the ICP (system IP address) so's I can have remote access without having to set up a modem? It seems as though if I change it at the system level, then the IP phones and all should still work, if the DHCP server is on.

Once you've changed the system IP, you have to do a system reset for it to take effect. If the MAC addresses are already registered, DHCP should bring up your IP devices. I think one exception would be any IPockets you might already have assigned with fixed IPs.

If you change the system IP, you'll need to go into the dhcp server, and change any of the 'scope' settings that reference the controller. i.e. tftp server.
Come to think of it, if you're moving out of the .1.xxx subnet, you'll have to create a completely new dhcp range.

55 said what I would have in regards to changing the subnet. If I do, I always setup the new one before deleting the old. That way I don't have to think too hard smile
