Is this a common problem among Mitel ?
I am running a SX 2000L on LW 34 my single line sets have trouble disconnecting with other single lines (internal)and Central Office analog and digital trunks. Is there a fix for this ? perhaps a timer needs to be changed ? How frequent do the ports go out on the ONS line card ? I have several that have gone out on me

Think about 'flash'. When hanging up at the end of a call, many folks will depress the hookswitch with one hand, then remove the hand (FROM THE HOOKSWITCH ), and put the handset 'on-hook'. Oops, they parked the call. The Mitel did what it was supposed to do. Now, depending on system options and timers the 'parked' call will ring back immediately or some time in the near future. Phones that have built-in hookswitch timers and separate flash buttons with a seperate timer, that stay 'hung-up' for 15-20 seconds or so, are available. OR, you could (not recommended) disable flash in the telephone's COS. Then they cannot park, transfer or do anything but hang up. Generally not a valid choice. But, the real answer is TRAINING.

John has the social engineering figured out. If that is not it, what are they doing? Ring back, immediate or delay (10 / 20 seconds?) What make / model of SL phone are you using?

No dial tone means you're DTMF receivers are not available. Check the status of your receivers on each of the peripheral switch controllers. There are 12 per card, and they're available to all s/l sets on the system.
