We have taken over a site for maintanence and the phones all have a key programmed (single line)which is their own extension number with a * in it. i.e. extension 2000 would have a single line key 2*000. It seems without this key the phone has no outgoing access. I cannot find anywhere in the programming why this would be.......any ideas!

Is this Key # 1 that the 2*000 is programmed on?
If you change the ext # and they cannot call out, Am am only guessing but I would think it has something to do with a CPN substitution and the * is a digit and can be part of the ext #. What type of circuit are the calls routed out on?
