1488 and 1489 are correct. (MC1488 MC1489) Radio shack used to carry them. I get mine from DIGI-KEY now. $1 or so each, no shipping charge on my last orders! I stock up every April! Same chip used on 200 analog and 200D '036' MCC. Get a few 14 pin low profile dip sockets. That way, if they get blown again. no more soldering iron, just unplug and plug!

Also does the smdr light flicker after you make a call? You might want to get a sr232 mini tester to help troubleshoot!

John, yes, it did work at one time, but stopped some time ago. Since we all know that 95% of people use their cell phones for long distance calls, all I can say is that the owner must be concerned about a piece of equipment that once worked, but now does not. I really don't think that there is that much revenue being lost here....

Harry & Jason - it was a combination of both your answers. the Innform was in mode 0, and none of the classes of service nor the trunk group had SMDR enabled. By the way, it is option 702, rather than 703, but thank you just the same!! They are up and running now!

I'm guessing the owner got a SURPRISE L/D bill that, in reality, was probably a result of employee activity.

Glad you whipped it Phil. Sorry about the option number but I have a "senior moment" from time to time.
If Opt. 700 wasn't set correctly in those Classes of Service, I'd guess that somebody had their fingers in the programming when they shouldn't have. It couldn't have been that way from the start or the call accounting would have never worked. If this is a new customer, you might have a "tech shopper" who will let anyone work on their system if the price is right and that's a recipe for disaster
