A loopback adapter is your friend. Idle in maintenance is good.

Is your CSU doing some kind of conversion of the T1 circuit? Like from ESF/B8ZS to D4/AMI? If not then plug into the NIU directly to test the circuit.

The '021' card can only decode SF/B8ZS or AMI. Sounds like the T1 is coming in ESF and being converted to SF in the CSU.

Put a loop back in the network side of the CSU.
If the network stays up, the problem is on your side, also put the loopback into the pbx and see if it stays in sync.
I had similar problems and everybody denied it was on their side. I had a vendor meet and the BOC tech said everything was fine, I asked him to check the programming of the card in the smartjack. Low and behold the smartjack card had the wrong formatting and line coding. Once he reprogrammed it the T-1 came up.

Point being - don't trust what the network side guys say!

I was wondering if I could change the dip switches on the CSU to do the looping. I just had a question if i wanted to loop the network I would flip dip switch 6 on and the pbx loop would be 5 up. Correct?

PBX '5' UP, yes. Not sure about network side, but probably 'up' as well. Anyone with experience on this Verilink product, chime in.

DeadWalleye, I think we have gone as far as we dare here. It's REALLY time to call a qualified Mitel Tech for on-site expertise. The theory of this web site is that we help techs and/or end users to the extent that we tell ya' what to do, but not how to do it. We are supposed to send end users to their user guides and techs to their I & R guides after that.

so my last post was over the line? I understand where you are coming from but I'm new to the group sorry for over stepping. Just trying to learn this stuff IM just an IT guy for a small company that is trying to get into hospitality and employer wont give me funds to get a mitel tech or any training. If I do that there would be no use for me. Im not looking for a hand holding just guidance. I'm pretty good with the SX-200 and 3300 now just not the T1 side and SX-50 side.
