Here is the run down.

We are a small business dealing with strictly mitels. We are looking to upgrade to a 200 ICP and junk the ESI. We have one employee who lives out of state that works for us and runs her VOIP phone through our ESI PBX here. We work on Mitel all the time but never have had to dive into this. What is all entailed into getting that employee's phone to work with our ICP in the office?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Get a teleworker license and do a bit of set-up programming. Mitel is probably the easiest teleworker solution: The user can plug in their IP phone literally ANYWHERE and connect as if they were in the office -- no additional hardware, no fooling around with connections.

Just plug it in, go off-hook, and start talking. Your local vendor should be able to make this very painless for you.

Right, we can do this all our selves. I was out of the business for awhile and now back, so trying to play catch up so to speak. Would you happen to know approx pricing for a teleworker?

If it was just one user, I would setup a hardware vpn.

Definitely set up a VPN for just one user. The teleworker would involve a stand alone server + licensing. Probably close to $1k in setup costs.
That being said, we use our teleworker as a demo tool, which gives it much more value to us.
We'll ship 2 sets to a site, plug them in, and get instant desk to desk communications (anywhere in the world). We'll also use them for long term installs, training, conference calls, etc. etc.etc.!!!
